Gina Rose Halpern is an artist, an ordained Interfaith Minister, and the founder of The Chaplaincy Institute for Arts and Interfaith Ministries in Berkeley, CA. Her work has been inspired by her global travels, and artists from every culture, who have created beauty in the service of the Divine – known by many names. Her art celebrates the mysteries of creation as well as the depths of the soul, psyche, and dreams. Her dedicated mission has been to serve others through creativity, education and beauty to unite Art, Spirituality and Healing.

Gina Rose Halpern was born in Philadelphia, PA, and makes her home in the Bay Area of Northern California. She received her BFA in Ceramics from Rhode Island School of Design. Her graduate work includes Cranbrook Academy of Art. Her MA degree was completed at Holy Names University in Oakland, CA. with a focus on Creativity, Culture and Spirituality. She finished her Doctorate of Ministry Degree while on faculty for Matthew Fox and The University of Creation Spirituality (now Wisdom University.)

Her artwork appears on covers for the music of recording artist Michael Stillwater, and her illuminations illustrate An Angel Called My Name, by Jyoti, convener for The International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers. She is also the author and illustrator of both the bilingual children’s book Where is Tibet? and To Heal the Broken Heart (Available via Amazon).

Sadiq was born in Bangladesh and studied, traveled and lived in Singapore and the United States. Son of an Art Historian and Professor of Fine Arts, Sadiq grew up with a natural instinct for  art appreciation. He began drawing as early as five years old. His father used to nick name him as “Pablo Picasso” for his doodles all over the walls and papers.

His artistic talent was honored many times as he won regional and national competitions while still in junior high school.

Growing up, Sadiq’s favorite media was Water Color and Digital Mixed Media. He is also fond of doing photography from the lens of an artist, always keen to capture interesting subjects and composition. He occasionally delves into Arabic Calligraphy and incorporates that into his art.

As a pharmacist in wholistic health I delved into the causal level of dis-ease… fascinated by the choices we make moment by moment between the freshness of LIFE, and death in all of its forms. “Singing in Silk” moves me toward the Alchemy of the Miraculous and my own Sacred Promise to unfold the Gifts that I Am so Grateful to share with you here. About the Silks: I began painting 35 years ago in Argentina on silk parachutes. Through the 90’s I dove deeper into the Oceans of Maui allowing the silks to flow steadily and freely. For me, they are about Translucence as It is reflected in our own Luminous Nature. Proper lighting from the back and front (on dimmer switches) enhances hand-detailed embellishments of golds & bronzes. And more importantly, the Brilliance Calls us to deeper Stillness and our Divine Presence.

With my dear sister Rosemary, and our Electrical Engineer ally, Bill Wolf, we have painstakingly reproduced these pieces merging State-of-the-art technology with the creative frequencies of the originals.
